Ozwater ’24 – Day 1: Education Hub

Every one person’s experience is different to another at Ozwater. With many streams to choose from and a vast Exhibition Hall packed with exhibitors, you would have the luxury of spending your time however you like.

The Education Hub was also in full swing on Day 1 in the Exhibition Hall. Thanks to Fulton Hogan’s sponsorship, the university students gathered to listen to Lee Revell, CEO of Fulton Hogan Utilities, talking about their current work in the STEM space and how they are improving diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation in the water sector. The students also got a chance to hear from our Young Water Professionals, Matt Sullivan, Miranda Rey Fleming, and Rigo Manahan, who shared their experiences working in the water sector. The session ended with an engaging Q&A that sparked many fantastic questions from the audience. It’s crystal clear that the future of the water industry is looking bright, and many students who are finishing their education today are seriously considering a career in the water industry in the near future.

For me, the rest of the day mostly revolved around staying in the Exhibition Hall and catching up with some old colleagues, making new connections with exhibitors, and meeting as many new people as I could from all walks of life.
